The Daughter
Mali
Mali is the youngest and smallest member of the group, and her story began before she was even born. She is Mo Ngae Po's biological daughter, born after Mo Ngae Po mated with a wild bull elephant in the forest area near the family's community. From the very beginning of her life, Mali has had her mother beside her.
For Trunk Heaven, the relationship between mother and daughter matters. We do not believe such a relationship should be separated simply for the convenience of tourism activities.
Today, Mali is a lively young elephant who enjoys eating, exploring her surroundings, playing in mud, and dust bathing. She shares a close relationship with both Mo Ngae Po and Chicha. Because she is still young, we hope Trunk Heaven can provide an environment where Mali has opportunities to grow, express natural behaviours, learn from the elephants around her, and have more choices in how she spends her life.
When you observe Mali, notice the small things: who does she choose to follow? Who does she choose to stand beside? How does she use her trunk to explore her surroundings? And when nobody is telling her what to do, how does she choose to spend her time?
